As you know I was off this week, and what a wonderful week it has been!  Blessed with fantastic weather, we have been able to get out and about. We’ve done so much!
Monday was our 24th Wedding Anniversary, however, the first thing which took priority was that Ian needed to replace a gasket on his car, but of course needed a tool which he didn’t have, so we had to wait in for a delivery.  Eventually it was all done so we waked to Lee on Solent in the sunshine and then came back home for a BBQ.
On Tuesday we took the motorbike to visit the Sammy Miller Motorbike Museum in New Milton (worth a visit if you are a bike enthusiast). What a lovely journey it was – we drove through Beaulieu and Lyndhurst.  Sitting on the bike, I was able to see so much – horses, donkeys, rivers and beautiful views.  It was very hot when we stopped and as you can see in the photo, we couldn’t wait to get the protective gear off!  We came home via Buckler’s Hard and walked down to the river and grabbed an ice cream.
During the rest of the week, we visited Gun Wharf, Fordingbridge, Stockbridge and Marlow (which I loved). Definitely planning a visit back to Marlow – I want to go on a river trip.  I think this is the first holiday we have taken on our own since George has started working, and therefore outside of school holidays.  It was quite strange – much quieter and we enjoyed the freedom of just stopping and eating wherever we fancied.
The shop has been up and down this week – sometimes I think it is just too hot and understandably you’d rather be in your gardens or at home keeping cool.  It has cooled down a little this weekend so maybe things will pick up again – I’m back in tomorrow for a couple of weeks and then Ian is off again!
Every week I end my emails with a note to say look out for each other and be kind – I really mean that.  After the tragic events in Nottingham this week, this has never been more prevalent.
