It’s difficult to believe that a week has passed, and Lyn is already home after her fall. Amazing isn’t it? A full replacement hip and the next day she was up and taking her first steps. Having improved daily and able to manage stairs, they were so happy with her progress that she was allowed home on Thursday. Naturally she is very tired but is very sensibly taking things slowly and building up her strength. With a few adaptions to the home she is managing with sticks and has a good network of friends and neighbours keeping a watchful eye over her – well done Lyn, one step at a time!
The shop is gradually transforming into colourful Spring/Summer clothing and footwear now – I’ve removed all the remaining long boots but we still have a limited selection of sale ankle boots alongside all the new season styles.
We’ve had another two deliveries this week – more from Marble (including this pretty dress) and some more one size tops from LV which were very popular when we stocked them before – beautiful summer colours.
On Friday Ian and I were finally able to take my parents-in-law along to Blooms Cafe in Emsworth for our afternoon tea. You’ll remember that I won this prize on Instagram some weeks ago, but for one reason or another we hadn’t been able to go until now. Unfortunately, it was a wet day which was a bit of a shame but we still thoroughly enjoyed our treat. We had the back seat on the bus which is a great novelty idea – worth a visit, if you haven’t been yet. Make sure you go along hungry – we had a doggie bag to take some home for George which he devoured immediately.
After such a wet Friday it has been lovely to get the washing out on the line and see some blue skies. I hope you have all made the most of it.
I’m devastated that having come through such a difficult time with Covid, that we are now facing the heartbreak and anxiety of what is happening in Ukraine. I can only imagine how terrifying it is for those families having to flee their homes and not know where or when this will end, or when or if they will ever see their loved ones again. It’s unthinkable. All we can do is watch on and hope and pray that the powers that be, will handle this situation sensitively and cautiously – Putin is a dangerous man and needs to be handled with care. I’m nervous like you all that this could escalate out of control. Keep positive, have faith and let us pray this will be over soon.
Look out for each other and be kind.
Sending you lots of love, good health and best wishes.
