Instead of “April showers” I think it should be “November downpours” – it was another really damp start to the week.  I am very aware of this because I work at the beginning of the week and the last two have been very wet and miserable!  However, I was able to change the windows and inside displays without getting in customers’ way, because there weren’t any!  Who would want to turn out in this weather?
So I then turned my attention to the website –
Robell delivered the Marie, navy jacquard trousers which I added straight on to the website – these are also available in black in full length which is 78cm/31″ leg –  we also have a few in burgundy or teal, although sizes are limited in those colours.  If you don’t want to come out, at least you can browse the website. You can either place an order for collection or delivery and if you’d like further information or advice, please don’t hesitate to call us at the shop and we will be happy to help.
I was so thankful for the blustery, sunny days, on Thursday and Friday, because my washing pile was stacking up!  I changed the beds and it was so good to get the bedding on the washing line – I am refusing to use the tumble dryer!
I watched the Autumn Budget live – so much to take in…. unprecedented global headwinds, cost of living crisis, high inflation, rising interest rates and guess what?, we are in a recession!
We all knew that the pandemic support schemes, rolling out the vaccine and the fabulous NHS would all have to be paid for somehow.  What with that and the energy crisis, thanks to Russia (did you hear that the energy wholesale price increased EIGHT times the historic average?!), it seems we are all in for a rough ride.
We can’t really do much other than sit tight and trust that the budget strategy works, and does indeed, make for a “shallower recession”.  From a completely selfish prospective, I am hoping that many of my customers will be able to absorb the increases and will still be in a position to support small businesses such as mine and ride this storm.
As you know I always try to remain positive and whilst it is difficult to find a positive spin on this situation, we should all be grateful that we wake up each day to face whatever challenges lie ahead, and remember that there is always someone in a worse position than us.
Back to business, and changing the subject again, if you’d like some inspiration for smaller gifts this Christmas, how about these fabulous Pachamama wrist warmers?  This fox print is so cute – we also have a range of different prints as well as headbands, hats, socks and hotwater bottles – ideal to keep warm instead of putting on the heating!!
Look out for each other and be kind.  Sending you lots of love, good health and best wishes.
Our website is available for online orders, click and collect and delivery.
