What a busy week! There seemed to be more visitors to Emsworth this week and I met some really lovely people. Some ladies meeting up for a retired teachers reunion, from as far as Devon, and a lovely couple of ladies from St Albans who were staying at The Harbour Deckhouse on Emsworth Harbour, and they said it was just beautiful.
Lyn called in on Tuesday for our little catch up and ended up helping me to change the windows and served a few customers along the way. I opted for navy and white this week – the choices of what to display are endless but I like the colours to sit well together. I usually start with a dress I’d like to showcase, and work from there. It’s not always possible to match up completely but I think we do a pretty good job.
Last thing on Tuesday, three boxes of Caprice were delivered – one new style in two colours, black foil or light grey (see image). These have a velcro fitting across the toes and around the ankle. Ideal for fluctuating temperatures when our feet expand, they are easily adjusted. There was also a new colour in one of our sandals we already have in silver and white leather – its called “cactus” in beige and greens and is made from suede leather – it has a cushioned footbed and is super comfortable. These styles sell across all ages – when you just want comfortable but stylish footwear, Caprice have nailed it.
Lyn worked alone on Friday morning, for the first time since her hip replacement. I’m really grateful to Annie for being so flexible with her hours to help Lyn get back into the swing of things. Between them it was a very busy day and Lyn seemed to really enjoy being back – and of course, we are delighted to have her back.
I have been grass cutting and weeding when the weather is fine, and ironing and cleaning when it gets a bit cloudy – I really know how to live don’t I?! The jobs are endless! However, I do enjoy writing this email, creating content for the shop social media, and trying to keep up to date with the website.
I’m starting to find my green fingers again and hoping to grow some home produce. I have already planted some hanging baskets and some lupins and red hot pokers, so we’ll see how sucessful they are – but I’m planning to try strawberries, cucumbers and peppers.
Have a good week. Look out for each other and be kind.
Sending you lots of love, good health and best wishes.
