Well, this week’s trade was a little like the weather itself – it started brightly and gradually petered out as the week went on. Saturday in particular was wild, windy and very quiet indeed! But let’s not dwell on that and instead look forward to a new week ahead.
It has certainly been a real mixed bag of sales this week. We’ve sold handbags, sale trousers, sale footwear and new season and full-price footwear too – proving once again that you never quite know what customers will be looking for from one day to the next.
One lovely customer is off to Majorca and decided it was time to review her holiday wardrobe whilst packing her suitcase. She came in looking for some new trousers and left with those, one of our beautiful Cream blouses and an Orientique linen jacket. Everything looked fabulous together and she left feeling holiday-ready, which is always lovely to see.
Then came one of the more unexpected sales of the week… a pair of our Pachamama sheep gloves! Yes, gloves in June! One of my regular customers is travelling overseas to visit her son and family and wanted to complete her collection of gifts to take with her. She remembered that we’d stocked the gloves during the winter and wondered if there was any chance I still had some tucked away. Thankfully I did, so I retrieved them from storage and brought a pair into the shop for her. She was delighted and, if I’m honest, so was I. It just goes to show that you never quite know what someone will be looking for!
The Great Shop Reset also continues. The footwear clearance has been going brilliantly and there are still plenty of amazing bargains to be found. Admittedly, some of the remaining styles are occasion shoes and heels, which won’t suit everyone, but if you know someone with a wedding, graduation, cruise, special event or perhaps a Mother of the Bride or Groom outfit to complete, please do spread the word. There are some truly beautiful shoes looking for new homes at remarkable prices.
We also still have a good selection of sale trousers available. Sizes are becoming more limited now, but there are some fantastic bargains to be had if you’re lucky enough to find your size.
Our beautiful hand-painted silk scarves have arrived too and are already brightening up the shop. They’re perfect for adding a splash of colour to an outfit and make lovely gifts as well.
This week’s featured image is one of the final deliveries from Caprice for the season. This lovely sandal has been a popular style for us before and this year arrives in a gorgeous silver patent leather. Elegant, comfortable and incredibly versatile, it’s easy to see why customers keep coming back for this style year after year.
I shall be away from the shop on Monday and Tuesday, so Lyn and Karen will be holding the fort until I return on Wednesday. Please do pop in and keep them busy for me! I’m sure they’ll be delighted to help you find a bargain, a holiday outfit or perhaps just something lovely to brighten your day.
