Hello everyone,
After a few challenging weeks, I’m pleased to report that things have picked up a little. It’s still coming in waves — long quiet periods followed by a sudden flurry of activity — but we’ll happily take that!
One of my favourite moments this week was welcoming back an American customer who visits Emsworth every year. She said to her friend “I’m just calling into that lovely boutique, Karen George!” We both had a laugh because she knew she wouldn’t leave empty-handed. It really does mean so much when people remember us and make a beeline to visit.
We’ve also welcomed lovely customers from all over this week, including Liphook, Bognor, Gosport, Hedge End, Denmead and Stubbington. Emsworth really is such a wonderful place to spend a few hours — whether you’re meeting friends for coffee and cake, enjoying a stroll around the harbour or indulging in a little retail therapy.
It’s been another great week for dresses and sale shoes, and this beautiful cotton dress has been attracting plenty of attention. Lightweight, colourful and easy to wear, it’s exactly the kind of piece you reach for on warm summer days.
We also had a couple of special orders delivered this week, including some fabulous new Robell jeans and — rather unexpectedly for this weather — a stylish gilet!
Meanwhile, our footwear clearance continues to gather momentum. I’ve brought over another car boot load of shoes ready to replenish the shelves as pairs disappear. Many of the styles are perfect for special occasions, and with prices at rock bottom, now is the ideal time to pick up something special for future events.
One lucky customer snapped up a stunning pair of stilettos for just £10 to wear to Ascot — proof that there are still some incredible bargains waiting to be discovered.
