What a beautiful day last Sunday was – thankfully Ian suffered no ill affects from his vaccine and so he and George spent some time cutting the grass and tidied the garden, followed by a game of badminton. I played some vinyls and did some ironing and then cooked a roast dinner! A nice family day which is what weekends are all about.
I restocked the shop with all the new arrivals on Monday and it’s fair to say that the cupboards are full! On Tuesday, Lyn called in to the shop and the alarm went off as our key fobs needed new batteries! So the next day, I was back over at the shop for the alarm engineer to carry out a maintenance service and to renew the batteries. It is good to know it works and that we are all sorted ahead of re-opening. And more good news is, that at long last, the leak appears to have been resolved – just waiting for it to dry up completely to be absolutely sure.
We’ve packed up more winter stock now, making space for the new Spring/Summer collections – it is so nice to have colour and the promise of warmer weather around the corner. I am looking forward to reopening the shop and getting back into the habit of my daily walk around the Millpond.
I have really missed it.
It’ll soon be time to book those pedicures, paint your toenails and get out your summer sandals. I’m very fond of these retro style sandals (see image) which are available in either white or navy leather.
From tomorrow, we will be able to meet outdoors in either groups of six or two households. It does not matter if the number in the two households exceeds six people, and this includes people meeting in parks or private gardens, as the government aims to make it easier for friends and families to get together over the Easter Bank Holiday.
We must still keep each other safe and follow the guidelines. The virus is still out there and we cannot afford to become complacent, new variants make us all vulnerable. Look out for each other and be kind.
