I was pleased to be so busy on Monday because I had to close the shop on Tuesday.  Lyn was away and Annie was unable to cover.
You may not have much knowledge about how difficult it is to book in for a driving test at the moment (still covid backlog I’m told!) but the earliest we could get booked was January!!!  However, if you keep looking, and are very quick, you can grab a cancellation.  We managed to bring it forward to December, and then, remarkably, one came up for Tuesday, which I grabbed.
Unfortunately, George’s driving instructor was away on holiday so he had to take it in his own car, which meant I had to drive him there and back.  Not a big deal you’d think, however, the test was at 1.35pm and meant that I would only be at the shop for 2 hours in the morning and half an hour in the afternoon, so I decided to close – no pressure George!!!
I am pleased to report that he passed with flying colours!  No faults at all (they can have up to 15), we are so proud of him.  Happy for him having a new lease of freedom – now I can just worry…….
The rest of the week has been quiet at the shop – it’s just too hot to shop!  No-one can be bothered to get undressed and try clothes on, and their feet are all hot and swollen!  However, I’m not complaining, I do love this weather but I’ll be happier next week when it cools down and hopefully we’ll get busier again.
When you are ready we have some really lovely autumn stock in, and of course, as I keep saying, there are still some summer sale bargains.
Berry is a great autumnal colour – how do you like this blouse?
Ian had a fantastic day at the Goodwood Revival on Friday but was totally exhausted from the heat – all those tweed jackets were soon disposed of and they sat in the Grandstand as often as possible.  He had lots of photos taken with various drivers including Steve Parish, John McGuinness, Steve Plater and met Sammy Miller… the museum we visited back in June.
So whilst he was out having fun, I met with a girlfriend and we had a lovely lunch at the Jolly Sailor in Bursledon on the water – it was really pretty – but still very hot!!
Enjoy the rest of the weekend, have a great week, look out for each other and be kind.
