A roller coaster of a week – Monday very quiet, Tuesday steady, Wednesday manic, Thursday quiet, Friday picked up later in the day, and Saturday good!
It was typical that the shop was manic on Wednesday because it clashed with a Ladies Coffee Morning and Christmas Fair at the Petersfield Golf Club. What a pretty venue – Lyn came along with me whilst Karen held the fort at the shop. It was really nice and a great opportunity for us to not only make some sales, but to create awareness that we exist in Emsworth. Lots of ladies already knew of us, but I handed out lots of business cards to those who didn’t know us, and told everyone that we have a website.
It was a really good advertising opportunity for us, so if you are aware of any other golf clubs, fairs or similar events that would be worth us approaching, please let me know.
I think that since the budget, the road ahead looks bumpy, so please continue to support us and all of the other independents if you can. The big stores and Amazon are in a much better position to absorb the extra costs than us smaller businesses. Whatsmore, if you visit our shop, you receive the personal touch, some interaction from a human being and the opportunity to touch and feel the product, as well as trying before buying.
The Pachamama collection is becoming more popular now that we are getting colder and closer to Christmas. These fair trade hats, headbands and handwarmers are made by the ladies of Nepal. They are wool with a fleece lining and so cosy – this is one of my favourites!
I’m hoping for a more consistent week ahead, so until then, take care of each other and be kind.
