What a cheerful story I learned on my first day back at the shop. One of my lovely regular ladies called in with a friend who was visiting. We got chatting and it transpired that this lady had had a recent windfall on the Premium Bonds. She said it just came out of the blue winning £25,000!!! How wonderful – it was so uplifting to hear some happy news for a change.
Of course I meet so many people with lots of different stories and they love a chat. Some are clearly lonely. Another lady, who didn’t know our shop existed, was so pleased to discover us, had been really struggling since a terrible virus left her without feeling in the soles of her feet and hands. She had been totally paralysed without sight but with lots of support and rehibilitation she left her wheelchair and is even driving again. It was a tragic story because during this time her husband developed cancer and passed away. Life deals some cruel cards at times doesn’t it? That is why I always end my emails with “Be Kind” because I truly believe it costs nothing to be kind and you just don’t know what goes on behind closed doors. She needed time and help and I was only too pleased to help her – I was shocked when she told me she was 82!!! What an amazing woman and she looked great.
One of my other regular ladies called in on the off chance that I still had some summer dresses. I only had one left in her size and with her husbands encouragement, she tried it on and loved it. It is amazing how something looks so different on, than it does on the hanger – you really have to try things on. She looked fantastic and will be wearing it to celebrate their 60th Wedding Anniversary!!
Sizes are getting low in our summer sale, quite a lot of size 16/18 available and of course we have now received our Autumn/Winter Marble range which is already being well received! This spotty jumper is one of your favourites coming in this beautiful “sea foam” colour this year.
