Yes, we are now on another countdown to 2025.
Three more days until we begin yet another New Year, a reset, new start, new habits, new fortunes, new dreams.
I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas.  Ours was pretty quiet with nice food and lots of treats.  It was a relaxing family time until later in the evening when George’s pals descended upon us and we ended up sitting around the table playing cards and having a few more drinks!
We’ve been really disappointed in the television this year though – lots of rubbish and repeats!  You’d think there would be something decent from all of those channels available to us these days.  We really struggled to find anything to watch, with one exception… Gavin and Stacey.  Not everyones cup of tea, I am sure, but we enjoyed it.
Boxing Day was very chilled – mostly watching football and we spent the day nibbling left overs on the sofa.   We felt very lethargic!  It’s hard to get going again isn’t it?  But Ian and George had to get up for work the next day so we were soon back into the usual routine, making packed lunches and setting the alarms again!
We had a spontaneous gathering yesterday, a couple of friends said they’d call in to say hello, and then another couple said they’d call round later, so I made a big pot of chilli for them all to dig in to.  It was lovely and relaxed, easy company and all old friends catching up.  More food and drink!!!
No resolutions for me this year.  I simply want to work hard and keep the shop going – we all know it’s going to be another difficult year ahead.  So long as we do our best and try to stay fit and healthy and look out for each other, what more can we do?
The shop will be open again on 2nd January.
Enjoy the celebrations – we all wish you a Healthy, Wealthy and Prosperous New Year and look forward to seeing you in 2025.
Until next week, take care of each other and be kind.
