I called in to my local Asda last Thursday and I could not believe it! It was as if we were going back into lockdown – the shelves were empty and the staff were trying to restock them as quickly as possible, there were people everywhere, crying babies…. aaahhhhh! I couldn’t wait to get out.
I was just calling in for a battery! And they say there is no money out there – I didn’t see any sign of people holding back!
As you know, my husband is a postie and he says that this year he hadn’t seen anything like it before – the number of packets they had to deliver was unbelieveable. No shortage of money being spent there either, and a sure sign as to why online shopping is threatening our High Streets. They could barely move in the depot and they just couldn’t get it all cleared without working long days. He’s always totally exhausted for Christmas and is back in again on 27th!!
Our new Miss Milly range has been a great success – that together with the Pachamama and the odd pair of boots has kept us going through December, so thank you all for your continued support. 2025 is going to be a tough year but we’ll cross that bridge when we come to it.
We will be closing at lunchtime on Christmas Eve and re-opening on Thursday 2nd January 2025! So remember us for last minute gifting, otherwise I’d like to wish you all a very Merry Christmas, enjoy the break and sharing happy times with your loved ones.
Until next week, take care of each other and be kind.
