After the Bank Holiday, we have enjoyed a better week here at Karen George – still not quite busy enough for my liking, but definitely a welcome improvement!
The weather has been dry with a little more sunshine. It still needs to warm up, but we’ll gladly take these brighter days as they seem to bring people out for a stroll and thinking ahead to warmer weather… and of course, what they might like to wear for it!
One lovely lady visiting from South Harting fell in love with a top earlier in the week, went away to think about it, and I was so pleased when she returned to say she simply had to have it. Luckily, I still had her size as there were only a few left! While she was here, I also helped her use the Wallet on her phone to pay for the very first time. Her son had set it up for her, but she was nervous to try it alone. After a few attempts, some face recognition and a double click, we got there! She was absolutely delighted – and I must admit, it made my day too.
It has also been lovely to see more of our final sale pieces finding new homes. There are still genuine bargains to be had on the sale rail if you enjoy a little rummage.
Another customer came in with a skirt she wanted a new top to wear with for the weekend. It wasn’t an exact match we needed, but together we found a contrasting piece that worked beautifully. Sometimes that fresh pair of eyes makes all the difference.
Our hand-painted silk scarves have also been proving popular, so I have placed another order which should arrive in the next couple of weeks. They are perfect if you like a little colour, a touch of elegance, or simply something light to pop around the neck.
Many ladies tell me they prefer a little arm coverage or a cooler top with sleeves for sunnier days, which brings me nicely to this week’s featured piece… This lovely cotton top from Adini is stylish, cool and easy to wear, with those flattering longer sleeves that so many of you ask for. Perfect with trousers, crops or skirts, and ideal for the season ahead.
