Well, it has been a much better week — not hugely busy in terms of numbers through the door, but some really lovely, quality sales which have made all the difference.
It’s been especially nice to welcome visitors to Emsworth enjoying the Easter holidays, and so rewarding to hear those lovely little gasps when people walk in and see all the colour. So many of you have commented on how pretty everything is at the moment, which is always so encouraging.
I’ve also had several ladies say how delighted they are that we are now stocking Orientique — clearly a brand that is already very well loved!
One lady popped in with no real intention of buying, but with a trip to America coming up, she simply couldn’t resist one of the dresses… and her friend did very well too, picking up some bargain Robell trousers from the sale rail along with a few necklaces (she admitted to having a bit of a weakness for them — and who can blame her when they’re such good value!).
Interestingly, despite all the beautiful dresses in store, we’ve also been selling jumpers, gilets and lots of trousers this week — it really is that in-between season. And I’m pleased to say a few of the half price last pairs of footwear have found new homes too.
One particularly special moment this week was seeing a lovely customer I haven’t seen for months. She arrived with her new walker after having a knee, hip and back operation, and was absolutely determined to find a new dress. She tried on several and looked fabulous in all of them, but finally chose one of the Dress Addict dresses and was so delighted — she promised she’d be back again soon. It really was such a joy to see her.
We were treated to a few dry, sunny days too, which meant I could have the door open — always a good sign! One day even felt properly warm, with people wandering around in t-shirts and shorts… although it didn’t last long before things cooled down again.
The Arts Trail booklets have been very popular — the first bundle disappeared quickly, so Liz has kindly dropped off some more. Do pop in and pick one up ahead of the start on 24th April.
I’ve also now managed to upload all of the Dress Addict collection onto the New Arrivals page on the website. I took the photos myself (on a slightly windy day!), so do have a look — there really are so many lovely styles to choose from.
