Well, I think we can safely say the weather has been a little unhelpful this week!  After a promising start on Monday and Tuesday, the wind and cold seemed to send everyone scurrying home again.  Let’s hope it doesn’t last too long, because the shop is full of the most beautiful spring and summer pieces just waiting for some sunshine.
With that in mind, it might be the perfect moment to start thinking about holidays and warmer days ahead.  We have so many gorgeous lightweight cottons, colourful prints and easy-to-pack pieces that are ideal for travelling — and as some of you have already discovered, certain styles are starting to disappear already!
Some exciting news too — our Caprice footwear has been despatched and is due to arrive next week.  Sandals are included (although I suspect most of us are not quite ready to get our toes out yet!), along with some lovely pumps and loafers.  I’m really looking forward to dressing the windows with summer footwear alongside all the fabulous new collections.
Our Bra Bank is also doing wonderfully well — thank you so much to everyone who has already donated.  The collection box is filling up nicely but there is still plenty of room for more.  Your unwanted or unused bras will either be reused in communities where good quality bras are difficult to access, or turned into vital funding for life-saving research with Against Breast Cancer.  If you have any tucked away in a drawer somewhere, please do bring them along — we will be collecting until 27th March.
It’s been lovely to see visitors from further afield this week too — Oxford, Guildford and Hayling Island have all been represented, alongside our wonderful local ladies who have been bravely shopping despite the wind!
And finally, a little update on the parking situation outside the shop… I hardly like to mention it, but the van hasn’t been there all week.  Instead it has been replaced by the owner’s car, which has stayed put!  Slightly better for visibility, although still not ideal for the flow of people and potential customers.  My most recent appeal was rejected again, but I will continue politely making a nuisance of myself in the hope that one day someone might listen.
This week I’ve chosen to showcase this gorgeous FOIL cotton shift dress — a striking green gingham print that is soft, comfortable and wonderfully easy to wear.  Just perfect for brighter days when they finally arrive.
As always, thank you so much for your continued support. It really does mean the world.
