I arrived at the shop on Monday to find several white vans parked outside the front and traffic cones cordoning off parking spaces and footpaths! Great. We didn’t receive any notice but it seems that the property next door but one (Cubitt and West Estate Agents) appear to be getting a new roof or certainly a repair.
There must have been about 6 or 8 workmen erecting scaffolding right up and over the building, and trust me, they were not quiet!! All shouting to each other, banging around without any consideration for others – honestly it was so noisy. Mind you, I have to say they were working hard and thankfully had it finished by Wednesday. Now we just have to look forward the noise when it all gets taken down.
I’m not saying it was the reason, but it has been a very quiet week, so please remember us when you are reviewing your winter wardrobe.

As you know, I was at the Goodwood Revival last Sunday which was great – the rain held off until about 2pm so we took shelter in the grandstand for most of the afternoon to watch the racing. The highlight of my day was being asked to dance by one of the resident dancers who taught me a few steps and span me round a few times – it was wonderful!!! My full skirt and petticoat felt amazing!!! It was fun but unfortunately I was alone at that time, (the others had gone to watch the bike race) so I didn’t have anyone to take a photo for me!!
I sold one of these Adini “Adel” dresses to a lovely lady this week – she has a birthday celebration this weekend and wanted a new dress to wear. It is so nice to see the new arrivals tried on, and this dress really suited her shape, skimming over the tummy.
