We stood waiting at the window on the arrival of our family who had travelled through the night from Scotland. It’s such a long journey by car but we were all so excited to see each other, it makes it worthwhile.
It’s been an exciting week as we had so much to celebrate… missed special birthdays (during Covid), a 25th Wedding Anniversary and it was my own birthday on Thursday! Sadly, George still had to go to school but we were all together for evening meals. We had lunch out most days, went for walks, visited Gun Wharf and Bosham. On Wednesday we visited the Bombay Sapphire Distillery in Laverstoke, which was fun and as you can see, I gained a birthday present!
The boys always enjoy visiting the Dockyard and were treated to an air display by the Red Arrows. They were also desparate to get a ride on Ian’s Harley so he did a few shuttle runs along the seafront – any excuse!
The week flew past and before we knew it, we were saying our goodbyes again – I dread it. I am a big softie and I struggle to see them go. The house feels so quiet and empty. We just don’t know when we’ll see each other again but hopefully it won’t have to be so long next time.
The shop was left in safe hands whilst I was off and we had a lovely new raspberry window display which I thought looked great.
This week is George’s half term which was unfortunate timing as the Scottish and English holidays didn’t coincide. I’ll be back at work for my regular days so I’m hoping he’ll use the time wisely and revise for his mocks. Lyn is off on her holidays, so Annie is covering Friday and I’ll be back on Saturday. Do pop in to say hello.
Until next week, sending you lots of love, good health and best wishes.
Look out for each other and be kind.
