Well… it’s been another one of those weeks — a real mixture of ups and downs, and if we’re honest, probably a few more downs than ups. The weather certainly hasn’t been helping has it? So much rain! Let’s hope we’ve had our fair share now and something brighter is on the way.
One of the highlights of my week was escaping the shop on Tuesday while Karen kindly held the fort.  Lyn and I took a trip to Arundel to view the Adini Autumn/Winter 2026 collection.  I must say, I was so pleasantly surprised — there’s a wonderful return of colour!  Think rich emerald, royal blues, warm oranges, reds and beautiful teal shades.  It was such a refreshing change and definitely lifted my spirits.
Back in the present, we’ve had a tiny early Spring delivery from Adini — just a little taster, but oh it’s lovely to see something new!
This included:
  • A sleeveless dress
  • A very pretty lightweight short-sleeved dress
  • A cotton slub t-shirt in royal or white
You may have already spotted them in the window. It’s always such a joy to have new pieces to “play” with in the shop!  I know most of us aren’t quite ready to wear them just yet, but if you have a holiday somewhere warm coming up — or you simply like to pop things away and secure your size while we have them — it’s worth coming in for a browse.
We’ve also had a top-up of the ever-popular Robell Jacklyn trousers. They’re such a reliable go-to for smart, office or everyday wear.  Available in black or navy, and in two lengths (29” and 31”).
It’s still a bit of a struggle out there, but you know me — I’m staying positive and really looking forward to all the Spring newness heading our way.  I believe our Orientique delivery has been despatched and should arrive next week.  Just a little note: this is a taster order, so many styles will only have one or two sizes in each piece.
On a completely different note… some of you may have noticed the huge white van that keeps parking right outside the shop and blocking us from view.  As if things aren’t tricky enough!  Seeing it there again this week very nearly tipped me over the edge.  I got in touch with our local councillor, Lulu Bowerman (Hampshire Highways), and I have to say she was incredibly kind — she actually came in to see me.  While her hands are a bit tied, we’re going to explore making that space time-limited like the rest of Emsworth.  A little win… and she even left with a skirt!
Thank you, as always, for your continued support, your smiles when you come in, and for reading my little weekly updates.  It truly means more than you know, especially at this time of year.
Here’s a photo of one of the new t-shirts — I think it’ll be such a useful piece for Spring and holidays.
Until next week, take care of each other and be kind.
