Hello everyone,
I thought I’d write a slightly different sort of email this week.
Even though it’s been a quieter one in terms of footfall, the shop has still been full of the little moments that remind me why I love what I do. I’ve had some really lovely chats — the kind that make you forget the weather outside for a while.
One lady popped in to tell me about her upcoming 80th birthday celebrations this weekend, another shared how things have been at home while caring for her poorly husband. Someone else was “just browsing”, but couldn’t resist trying on one of the new Cream blouses — and looked absolutely fabulous in it. And one lady hadn’t been in for a while, but persuaded her husband to take her out for a drive; when he asked where she wanted to go, she said “Emsworth” — to which he replied, “I know exactly why you want to go there!” She left with two jumpers from the sale and a big smile. It was so nice to see her again.
Those conversations are such a reminder that this shop is about so much more than clothes.
From a wardrobe point of view, this in-between time of year can be tricky, and we do currently have a really good selection of trousers, boots and winter pieces at 20% off, which are ideal for right now. Our showerproof ankle boots have been particularly useful with all the wet weather we’ve been having. Alongside that, a small sprinkling of new Cream pieces has started to come through, which are mixing in beautifully with existing favourites.
I love this little ribbed top – the colour is gorgeous and I believe it does come in other colours, so I may need to take a look as these are already selling!
