Happy New Year!
I’m not one for making Resolutions.  It’s like making a public declaration of failure!!  I’d sooner keep my promises to myself – no pressure.
It’s always a funny old week between the two celebrations. Ian was back at work on Wednesday so I spent my time catching up with the washing and ironing and updated my shop paperwork.  It’s been lovely not rushing around and just being able to go at my own pace.
George had his second Covid vaccination at our local doctors practice, which I was happy about, as he returns to school on Wednesday.  A big year for him so I’m just hoping he gets his head down and focuses.
The TV has been pretty poor but Ian and I have enjoyed watching the World Darts Championships.  We’ve also started re-watching Peaky Blinders in anticipation of the forthcoming new series….. not for the faint hearted!  Really sad knowing that the actress who played Polly (Helen McCrory) has since passed away.
We saw the New Year in at home watching Jools Holland’s Hootenanny with the curtains open so we could see all the fireworks.
It looks like we will be treating ourselves to a new dishwasher for the New Year as ours appears to have stopped heating and keeps running without stopping – thank heavens it lasted through Christmas, every cloud…..
No further Covid restritions as yet, so the shop will be open again on Tuesday.
Rest assured we will continue wearing masks and maintaining a clean, safe shopping environment.  Covid cases reached almost 190,000, so January will be yet another strain on the NHS.  Encouraging vaccinations and boosters, washing our hands, wearing masks and keeping our distance whilst we live alongside this virus, is essential to keep the economy flowing.
Take care, look out for each other and be kind.
Sending you lots of love, good health and best wishes.
